Accessibility at Distillery Dental Studio

Distillery Dental Studio is committed to providing dental care that is accessible to everyone, and to treating all patients with dignity and independence. This statement explains what we do, what we are working on, and how to tell us when we get it wrong.

Our commitment

We are committed to meeting our obligations under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Ontario Human Rights Code. We aim to identify and remove barriers to care — physical, communication, and attitudinal — and to accommodate individual needs wherever we reasonably can.

Visiting the studio

Our studio is at 510 King St E #3, in Toronto’s Distillery District. [CONFIRM AND DESCRIBE: entrance and whether it is step-free, door widths and any automatic door, elevator access if applicable, accessible washroom, accessible parking or nearest accessible transit stop.]

If you have questions about getting into or around the studio, or you would like us to make specific arrangements before your visit, please contact us in advance and we will do our best to help.

Service animals and support persons

Service animals are welcome in all areas of the studio that are open to patients. If you are accompanied by a support person, they are welcome to join you, including in the treatment room where you would like them present.

Communication and accessible formats

We will communicate with you in the way that works best for you. On request, we will provide our forms, treatment plans, and this statement in an accessible format or with communication support, at no charge. Tell us what would help — large print, a document emailed in advance, extra time to talk through options, or written notes rather than verbal explanation — and we will arrange it.

Appointments and treatment

If anxiety, sensory sensitivity, mobility, or any other consideration affects how you experience dental care, tell us when you book. Longer appointments, quieter times of day, breaks during treatment, and nitrous oxide sedation are all available, and none of it requires explaining more than you want to.

This website

We aim to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA as a design standard for this website — including readable contrast, descriptive link text, keyboard navigation, and text alternatives for images. We have not had the site independently audited, so we do not claim full conformance, and some third-party content we embed (such as maps and forms) is outside our direct control.

If you encounter a page you cannot use, we want to know. We will fix what we can and, in the meantime, give you the same information another way.

Temporary disruptions

If a facility or service that people rely on is temporarily unavailable, we will post notice at the studio and, where possible, on this website, along with the reason, the expected duration, and any alternative arrangements.

Feedback

We welcome feedback on how we provide accessible care — including complaints. You can reach us by email at info@distillerydentalstudio.ca, by phone at (416) 477-9987, through our contact page, or in person at the studio. If you would prefer to give feedback another way, tell us and we will accommodate it.

We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within [CONFIRM: e.g. five business days], and we will respond in the format you asked us to use.
