Neither wins universally; they trade different things. Dentures are the accessible, non-surgical route, and modern ones fit far better than the stereotype. Implant-supported options involve surgery, but they don’t shift, and they preserve jawbone over time. Many patients land in the middle: an implant-supported denture — the security of implants, the practicality of a denture. We’ll map the options against your case honestly and let you choose informed.
How do I clean and care for dentures?
Daily, and gently: brush them with a denture brush and denture cleanser — not regular toothpaste, which is abrasive enough to scratch acrylic — and soak them in a denture cleaning solution as directed. Never hot water; it warps them. Give your gums a nightly break with the dentures out, and keep brushing your gums and tongue too. We’ll walk you through the full routine at your fitting.
Can I buy dentures online, or fix mine with a repair kit?
We’d gently steer you away from both. Mail-order dentures skip the one thing that makes dentures work: clinical fitting to your actual mouth — poor fit causes sores, bone loss, and dentures that end up living in a drawer. Repair kits are for emergencies only, en route to a proper repair. And if you’re relying on ever-stronger adhesive to keep dentures in place, that’s not a glue problem — it’s a fit problem, and a reline or refit will solve what no adhesive can.
